Who the WWE Universe thinks will win the Royal Rumble
The Royal Rumble! A favorite time of year for WWE fans because as we all know, It starts the road to Wrestlemania! Everybody has their favorites and their picks to win, so I decided to ask around to some of the most diverse groups of fans I could find and see who they are expecting to win and what they're predicting to be the main event of Wrestlemania 33.
Now me personally, I don't like to know who's entered in the rumble because I like the surprise aspect of it. But knowing who all IS in the rumble, you have to agree this is shaping up to be one of the best rumbles yet! Three biggest names entered, well there is Goldberg just to start. A huge name in the industry and the most appealing part-time superstar right now. Do I agree with his returning to beat Lesnar in a minute and thirty seconds? Absolutely not, I think Lesnar could beat Goldberg on a bad day. But this isn't about Survivor Series. This is about the Royal Rumble, and this fued between Lesnar and Goldberg is what the rumble had started to be shaped around. But believe it or not, of all the fans I asked, absolutely nobody thought Brock Lesnar or Goldberg would be the winner of the Royal Rumble this year.
Which brings me to the next man, or should I say the deadman. Yes, the veteran Undertaker being one of the biggest names in this years rumble as well as arguably the greatest superstar ever lived, is the top favorited to win this year. By a long shot! I would estimate a good 90% of fans I talked to predicted Undertaker to win and go on to face John Cena or AJ Syles for the WWE world championship, and the majority want to see Undertaker and Cena face off at Wrestlemania. In fact, talking with fellow fans the whole conversation of the Royal Rumble turns more into wondering what the Undertaker is going to do for Wrestlemania! People want to see Cena vs Taker, some want Goldberg to face Taker if neither won the rumble, some want a Wrestlemania 30 rematch with Lesnar. The rumble may have started off being shaped around the fued between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, but the Undertaker is inevitably going to be the head of the conversation.
Even though a very large majority of fans expect to see the Undertaker win the rumble, there is another prediction that stands out to me, and if you read my article before Raw this week you'll know that I am in high favor of this happening. A handful of people are predicting that Finn Balor will make a return and win the rumble. I would love that personally. Another interesting pick though, is the idea that Kurt Angle may be a surprise entrant and win the rumble. The likelyhood of that is very low, but interesting to say the least.
What are your predictions on the 30- Man Rumble? Who do you think will walk out with the Universal and WWE world championships? Can Baley get the title off Charolette and end the PPV streak? Feel free to start a conversation below or tweet me @ mc_irwin.
